You didn’t know that Lick used to actually ride motorcycles.

James teaches the afternoon classroom sessions, and is the master of constructive criticism in the demos (why doesn’t he ever have to ride?) A lifelong motorcyclist, he has his first bike, an Ital-Jet 50,on display in his living room. He started racing with the AFM in 1993, and went Endurance Racing with WERA in 1995. He has been a test editor, columnist, and contributor for City Bike, and Roadracing World and Motorcycle Technology. In 2005 he was the riding coach for Arclight Racing Suzuki in the Formula USA Series; Arclight rider Jeff Wood won the Formula Sportbike, Sportbike, and Superbike National Championships. For 2006 - 2008, he was Robertino Pietri's Crew Chief on Team RoadracingWorld.com Suzuki, competing in AMA Superstock. Lick also traveled to Venezuela in 2006 where Pietri won the Latin American and Venezuelan Superbike Championships. In 2008 they qualified on the front row four times and had one podium at Elkhart Lake. James is back with Team RoadracingWorld.com Suzuki in 2009 as Crew Chief for Columbian Superbike Champion Santiago Villa.

1999: 8th in AMA Championship, Pro Thunder. 2nd o/a WERA 24 Hours of Willow Springs.
