July High Plains Raceway - STAR is a great organization and a real asset to the sport
Hi Jason, Mark and crew,
Hope all finds you well. Just wanted to drop a line to thank you for the great school at Hi Plains. I looked at my pics from Steve and found some kinda weird body stuff going on I need to fix. I worked with Todd and Mark quite a bit on my hips, shoulders and elbows, but for some reason I took a big step back from progress made at Miller earlier this year. Something to work at next time.
Anyway, the school is always great and the perfect escape from a stressful time. I am trying to make Pahrump so hopefully I will see you there !
Star is a great organization and a real asset to the sport. I hope you are all proud of the product you provide, and wish you the best for the future.
Kind Regards,
TM
July High Plains Raceway - The school was 1st class in every way
Just wanted to tell you guys I had the time of my life, and learned a lot. The school was 1st class in every way. I will be the 1st to sign up for next year.
April Miller - I will be letting all of my riding friends know what a great school this is
I wanted to let Jason and his staff know what a great time I had last week at Miller. This was my first time at the school and my expectations were exceeded. The classroom time and track time was invaluable. All of the staff was great. I would like to especially thank Roger and Connie Middleton and Jon Nichols for everything they did. I would also like to personally thank Jason for making it to the track considering what he had been through the previous week. Having Jason there and having him teach the classes made it even more worthwhile. I am already trying to plan my next school. In the meantime, I will be letting all of my riding friends know what a great school this is and that they should try to attend. Thank you again.

March Thunderhill - I have a desire to improve constantly and STAR gives me the hope that I can do it!
Thanks once again for a wonderful three days at Thunderhill. I had a blast and came away with a lot. Special thanks to Jon Nichols, Mark Gallardo, Chris Story and Roger Middleton for all their on track help. Through their suggestions, I started relaxing on the bike and applying Jason's in-class lessons to my riding. Especially on my exits! Both Jon and Mark really helped by dragging me around the track riding SV's and answering RPM management questions and what and SV can do! I will remember to not over ride my eyes. Mark, and Jon, thanks for making me feel great stuffin' you in some of the corners. LOL. Roger, thanks for helping me step back and learn how to do some self-evaluation regarding the head shake I was feeling. Chris, thanks for letting me know I had to relax, set up sooner and how to play with some entry and exit points. Thanks to Munch Photos (Steve, Shelly and Max) for making me look good sometimes, but mostly for showing me how much further I have to go. I was able to look at the photos from you guys last October and compare them to this past school and find them of tremendous teaching use.
Most of all thank you Jason and Mark for putting the show on for all us riders, and giving us an outlet to pursue a passionate desire to ride smoothly and in control. I have a desire to improve constantly and STAR gives me the hope that I can do it!
Can't wait for Buttonwillow!
Cheers,

March Streets of Willow - 100 out of 100!
A big big thank you for the day I spent at your school yesterday March 16th.
If I had to give it marks out of 100 i would give it 100!
The weather was great, the circuit was fun, with some 2nd, 3rd 4th and possibly 5th gear corners.
The tuition was first rate, your in class with Jason and James was very informative. All of the instructors were great, I had help from five that I can remember, most of them more than once, and in every session I went out in. They followed me, pulled me in and advised me always in a positive and friendly way. When I first started the day and was just finding my way right through to the last session they were always positive and helpfull. The two women in our group also seemed to have a good time too.
The SV650 was great, it handled well, it had a very flexible power curve, and 100mph along each of the two straights was just fine for me.
All in all I had an extremely positive experience. I met a guy who works at a bike shop a mile away from where i live so I went round there today and he felt the same.
Thanks so much
DG
September Pueblo - The course was definitely high value for me
I participated in the September 8 and 9 STAR classes. I had fear and I had fun, especially on the second day (fun). All the time I wondered how this was going to translate to the street.
On the way to work I can practice being smooth and playing with downshifting, keeping the bike settled and practicing position on the bike but my commute is not long and all the roads are laid out in a grid.
Yesterday I did a 100 mile ride with my daughter in the mountains and then, in the evening another 100 mile round trip dash to and from the airport. What I experienced;
-better control in the curves
-better lines in the curves
-better set up for the curves
-more confidence overall
-better understanding and recognition of how my inputs affect the bike
-better control on rough aging roads in congested high speed traffic
-recognition that my 2000 VFR 800 (not used in the course) with after market suspension has been set up for someone much heavier than me and needs adjustment so that it stays in contact with the road
The course was definitely high value for me. It exposed me to the track = :) :) :) = waking up too early on Wednesday morning and not being able to get back to sleep for the memories of the track.
I will be back in the course in 2009.

My road riding has improved immensely since the school and I am faster but safer
Hi,
I attended a school in October 2007 and just recently in June 2008 at the Streets of Willow. The schools were just fantastic and learned just loads. The reason I am writing is today on my sat morning ride traveling on the 79 from Lake Cuyamaca to Japatul I had an experience on the bike. The road surface was rutted/broken due to heavy truck traffic and I was travelling at a 'brisk' rate and after attending the school, my riding position was "like holding chicks" on the handlebars...(Mark's comments stuck) and I glided over the road...just amazing. It saved me a lot of grief!! As believe me the road surface was very bad. My road riding has improved immensely since the school and I am faster but safer....go figure :-)
I want to say thanks to the school instructors in particular Mark Gallardo and Craig Mclean. They both helped me with specific areas. Had a great time and I may sign up for another class later this year.
Cheers,
AW
June Streets of Willow - I would recommend it to anyone!
To all the instructors, Jason, and everyone else,
My brother Bernard and I attended your school at Willow beginning of June
Just wanted to let you know that the school was absolutely great and I would recommend it to anyone! The vibe, the schedule, and all your instructors where top notch!
Please let everyone there know.
Best Regards,
HL
June Motorsports Park Hastings - 4 – 1st place finishes, my best weekend in the last 4 years
Well I cannot say enough how great the Hastings school was to attend. Not only was it fun, exciting and very educational it provided me with a very solid grounding to grow from.
We just completed a race weekend at Hastings and if the results are any indication of the school then Kudos's to everyone at Star. 4 – 1st place finishes, my best weekend in the last 4 years.
I was able to ride at a much quicker pace with control and never felt the fatigue I had been battling all year. The clutch control drills really came in handy as I was able to learn to position myself better and deeper when needed. My corner entry and exit speeds both increased making for better passing opportunities and quicker lap times.
I honestly cannot say enough how much your school helped. We will be back to learn more.

June Motorsports Park Hastings - The best part was the classroom sessions
Jason;
I completely enjoyed your school last week!! Beside gaining some good pointers on track from your staff who were all friendly competent and professional, the best part was the classroom sessions. It was a great mixture of techniques, lines and mental approaches, all delivered with humor and a dash of insider industry perspective and bench racing stories.
I was also impressed to meet you. I had been a fan before, but never appreciated how friendly, knowledgeable, personable, articulate and impressive you actually are. I introduced myself on Tuesday (was not there Monday), expecting only a brief hello. You were genuinely interested in helping me and taking the time to talk for more than just a minute.
Finally the 2 up ride opened my eyes to the power of trail braking. I couldn't believe how hard you trailed braked to the apex and the Qualifiers took the force braking and cornering forces with 2 people without complaint. WOW. I will be doing more trail braking in my races and control riding..
You are the sort of person that will be successful in whatever you choose to do. Motorcycle racing is lucky to have such an accomplished ambassador. I will be following your WSB season with great interest and will for sure be taking the next STAR school that is close to me.
All the Best,
TH
May Hallett Raceway - The staff were very professional!
STAR,
I want to thank the entire staff that came to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit here in Oklahoma. The staff were very professional, welling to advise, to suggest techniques, and even ask my thought process from class room activates to the track. For example while on track I was fortune on both days to have an instructor pull me over off track at designated area to get my thoughts on way I was using half track to inside on the track. I was doing so because I was slower than everyone else and didn't want to get in their way. The instructors advise to me was to use the 3/4 track which would place me in a better entry point on the apex then the exit would be closer to 3/4 and not to worry about those behind me just stay on line then the riders would be able pass on the outside. As it was I was drifting to far outside past 3/4 than I was pull back across track to half track or less, this was causing other riders behind me to be confused, sometime they would pass me on the inside or wait for an opening. This is only one example of information given but a very important one not only for track technique but for STAR school track safety. I could go no and on but I won't do that, its all in the Course outline. The terms and discussion make more since to me now, I just need to practice them. LOTS of practice.
Also, I want to thank STAR for having Danny Eslick come to Hallett to demo. It was a real treat to meet this talented young man in the class room and to be on the same track with him as he went by at a hundred plus.
To all of the sponsors, you can not go wrong by supporting STAR. This school is good for motorcycle enthsist and is great for the industry. I would like to thank you also, with out you this would not have happened.

May Hallett Raceway - I had a great time and I will be back!
To Star School staff,
I just wanted to type a quick note to tell all of you how much I enjoyed the school at Hallett. Mark did a great job of explaining all of the techniques he wanted us to learn. He always emphasized riding well within our abilities. He did this not only to keep us safe, but also so that we might practice what he had taught us without going back to old bad habits.
A special thanks to all the coaches who rodes with us out on the track. They were doing double duty, riding with both the street class and the advanced class. I was coached three times buy different coaches and never did I feel like I was getting talked down to, they always treated me with respect. Great job! To sum it all up, I had a great time and I will be back!
Thanks again,
MR
Thunderhill Pro School - The benefits to my riding ability could be seen immediately
This last week, April 1st , 2nd, and 3rd I attended the 3-Day Jason Pridmores Star School at Thunderhill raceway located in Willows, CA. which consisted of a normal 2-day school and a 1-day Pro school that is only offered to previous students twice a year. During the two day school, Jason Pridmore and his instructors focused on teaching us a wide array of new techniques such as; advanced steering, shifting, and braking, body position, line selection, tire managements, suspension and chassis setup.
The School did an outstanding job in class of explaining how to perform these different techniques, and also backed up everything up with on track demonstrations and one on one help from the instructors. By practicing these new techniques I was quickly able to learn Thunderhill raceway. The benefits to my riding ability could be seen immediately. With every lap I found myself extending my brake markers, braking deeper and later than ever before and practicing my new techniques. I am now consistently running faster, smoother laps while staying calm and focused.
The Star School Instructors did an excellent job from the class room to the race track. The School exceeded all of my expectations and maintained a successful learning environment. Jason’s “No-Ego” personality was exhibited by himself and his entire staff which was beneficial in bringing the group together as a whole and putting everyone on the same level.

February Streets of Willow - Thanks for the BEST time ever!
Jason and Everyone at Star School:
Thanks you so much for a fantastic day. This was my first track experience and I had a blast. Jason, Mark and the entire staff made me feel comfortable and right at home. The class instruction was uncomplicated and built upon itself in such a manner that I was able to layer the techniques together, one session at a time. (Mark’s “body positioning” instructions came at the perfect time, the light bulb went on!).
Nothing is better than 1 on 1. Following Jon tightly through Streets of Willow, passing inside and outside, not only gave me a good look at simplifying my “line” over the track, but also gave me the thrill and confidence to enjoy close quarter (at least for me) racing. Before the 1 on 1 I was working too hard. He made me realize just how relaxed, easy, and fun track racing can be.
I will certainly see you again, and bring along some new students.

February Spring Mountain Motorsports Park - Thank You
Jason,
I just wanted to thank you again for the February Spring Spring Mountain School. I was a bit nervous at first as I had never been on a track, and I hadn't been on a street bike for over 3 years. However, as the day went on I became very comfortable by implementing the lessons learned in the class sessions. And by the end of the day I felt like I was really able to let it hang out a bit, and cut some pretty good laps. When we left the track I was very impressed with how much I learned and also how much fun we had had. But it honestly didn't hit me until I was passing through Barstow that, wow, this was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Although, I grew up racing motocross and spent a large part of my life on a motorcycle, I can't think of a time I have had more fun on a bike. I recommend your class to everybody who has ever wanted, or wondered about track riding.
So once again I thank you for putting together such a great school, I look forward to attending many more.
Thank you,
BK
February Spring Mountain Motorsports Park - I'd like to say thanks again Mark for a great experience!
Star School,
My thanks goes out specifically to Mark Gallardo for taking the time on Sunday 24 Feb to take us SV riders down from Washington around the track. Mark has superb ability not just as a rider/instructor but the way he explains and breaks down how to increase our riding ability to make us not just fast, but safe as well. Mark really focused on entrance, mid-corner and exit speed and positioning to help us to become smoother riders. I wish there were more guys like him at our track with the mentoring ability he shares.
This being my first school I really didn't know what to expect as I have been racing for 2 years off and on when the military permits the time and 100's of track days. I'm looking forward to maybe joining the Star School down at Miller this year to further my riding ability.
I'd like to say thanks again Mark for a great experience!

February Spring Mountain Motorsports Park - your school made me feel like it's possible for me
Dear Jason,
I'm not sure if I should start out cursing you for how sore my thighs are today, or thanking you for how much I learned this weekend.
I'm especially grateful for how not intimidating it was. With only 10,000 miles of experience, riding a BMW 650GS, and being a girl I fully expected to feel that I didn't belong, and that I was in everyone's way, but I couldn't have been more wrong. You took the time to allay my fears, and give me the confidence to ride my ride. I especially want to thank Mark, Cory, and James for taking individual time with me on the track. The great thing is, they not only give instruction, they give encouragement & it feels sincere. It's pretty nice to hear that you're doing something well, before they also tell you how to improve or try something new. It's a great approach. Not only did they stop me on the track, but on the following day, they took the time to tell me how much I was improving between sessions.
You're crew is also really supportive and friendly. I can't tell you how many of them would ask me if I was having a good time as I walked around. You should be very proud. I know they've got a lot going on, and it's impressive that they take the time.
Now, I know you said you wanted to hear criticism, as well as compliments... but I've got nuthin! You're class room technique is quite good. I especially like the fact that you have a sense of humor! The laughter was priceless for alleviating my stress. So many people don't understand that laughter and learning work very well together! It was really helpful to hear you talk about a technique, or a specific curve and then see you guys do the demo, too. And... walking the track was also very informative. It's hard to describe, but it took some of the mystery or that feeling of the unknown out of the track.
I think what impressed me most (besides the 2 up ride) was the fact that the school isn't about how fast you can go, and it isn't all about racing. It's about skill - no matter what you're riding level is. Whether your slow or fast, the skill set is the same, and I love the fact that you embrace all different kinds of riding - not just racing. You're a credit to the motorcycling world.
Thank you again, so very much for the entire experience. You can be sure I will be recommending this school to anyone and everyone, and I'll be benefiting from this for months and years to come. Truth be told, I sure don't feel like I have mad skills yet, but your school made me feel like it's possible for me. One of these days, they may call me.... Mrs. Smooth! Hah!
Sincerely,
TN
October Thunderhill - I’ll be back to several more schools in 2008
Thanks for the 9-10 October school at Thunderhill; I learned a TON at that school and have a lot to work on. I’ll be back to several more schools in 2008. The most important thing I learned was proper riding position. I had always thought that I needed to crawl all over the bike like a madman to ride properly and from Mark’s lecture and the feedback directly from Todd Rainey (who followed me on the track) I have changed my style and as a result I’m MUCH less worn out after a session. The second most important thing I learned was from Angie, who got me to stand the bike up off the corners. It felt REALLY different doing this, but it felt “right” as well. The coolest part of the second day was when I was following her and we were exiting T6 and she gave me the “thumbs-up” for standing it up properly. Now I just need to get used to it and not fall back into old habits.
THANKS again for a great school; see you in 2008!

September Streets of Willow - Consider me a JP Star School evangelist
What a wonderful experience Jason!
It seems very clear to me why your school is so fundamentally unique. You made many a reference to your own experiences learning from your father over the years – not only an accomplished racer himself, but also a prolific instructor. It is obvious to me and others I’m sure that we recognize the significance of that gene in you from which we students benefit. Your father and you go out and prove yourself winning racers over decades while at the same time passing along the benefit of your additional skill at teaching, coaching and mentoring. Great Communicators you are - with the ability and will to help others just seems to run in the family.
As I mentioned to you, I’ve been to quite a number of racing schools in the four-wheeled area over the years, but never motorcycle road racing/street riding. Nevertheless to say, these experiences with different instructors, organizations, etc., offer me a true appreciation for what makes for a superior experience from the standpoint of an eager student – and yes, with expectations! Well, you had me riveted and really thinking about your approaches to learning from morning one. Without getting too wordy, I want you to know that I came away with more than I expected. I not only learned more, I gained new ways of thinking about track performance and new paradigms for approaching my future experiences.
Your staff is terrific. I learned from many of them - an abundance of them there is too! I can only imagine others will say the same thing. I think I took away more than from other schools because they succeeded at leveraging the way you designed your program and its structure. They also were really present mentally! They were so ‘aware’… literally right there whenever you wanted them, an integral, ever-present and accessible part of our on-track experience as well as off-track. I couldn’t have imagined it better.
For example; without the consideration and resourcefulness of your Instructor, Mr. Jon Nichols, I would have been caught out twice... first day with an unbuttoned shifter peg loss, and next day with clutch problems. I was so fortunate to have his technical assistance… and riding with him so much and learning from him (I feel like he took my under his wing for two days in a row) was simply awesome. The attention considerable time he spent with me on and off the track was such a joy. I’m not shy about emphatically stating that both you and Jon have etched a place in my heart and two-wheeled life experience forever! I will write Jon today to thank him again as well.
Consider me a JP Star School evangelist, and I thank ALL of your associates… these are REALLY high, quality people who deserve even more success with your work at Star School. It’s always people like you and yours who leave their egos at home that really affect student’s lives the most. Your humble, unique and extremely professional approach to instruction and accommodation is a luxury that is not often duplicated elsewhere. You all taught us so much, and kept us safe as possible at the same time – even on the back of your two-up. BTW, how COOL was that! Icing on the Proverbial Cake I’d say, and I’ll be back for more ASAP! Meanwhile, best wishes and good luck in all that you folks endeavor.
PS - Say hi to Sheila too, and keep me in the loop. Tell her she was right!
Your friend and student,
TM
September Streets of Willow - You can consider me a lifetime student of yours
Jason,
Two days have gone by since I attended the school at The Streets of Willow and I can’t stop smiling and thinking about everything I learned. I have watched a lot of racing over the years and I have always wondered if I could do that. Your class gave me the opportunity to see what I could do on a track.
I am so grateful that my first track experience was lead by you and your instructors. I learned so many things but a couple things stood out. Tight Lines were a complete revolution and make so much sense. As soon as I tightened the lines up I noticed all the other people that were weaving their way through the track and how much time it took them to make a turn.
The Downshifting technique was another eye opener. I was just dumping the clutch every time I downshifted. Now I’m getting that last one nice and smooth and towards the end of the day I was feeling the back end come around going into the skid pad turn at the end of the straight. The cool thing was that I was doing it under control and the bike wasn’t shaking like crazy.
I finally have an idea what I’m supposed to be doing with my body position. I was trying to hang off the bike and wondering why I felt so out of control. I feel so much more in control when I’m pivoting and keeping my arms relaxed.
You really have a great team of instructors that really know how to keep it simple and not throw out a bunch of suggestions that don’t work. Their guidance is very precise and constructive. Angie, Todd, James, Chris, Mark, Jon & Rodger all helped me directly and I can’t thank them enough for their guidance. The thing I was most impressed with was I saw you coaching one of your instructors and that showed me that we all have more to learn. And that fell in line with the No Ego kind of environment that you provide.
You can consider me a lifetime student of yours and I hope to someday help pass it on and become and instructor myself.
Thank you very much,
MS
Thank you - Jennings GP class
I wanted to say thank you for the terrific school at Jennings GP August 27-28. I was riding in the advanced group and the instruction was very helpful, the instructors very courteous providing great feedback with specific items to improve.
I have been riding on the street for many years, started riding track days about a year and a half ago, and competed in a few CCS Florida region races this season. During the time on the track I have been taught the “race line”. Your instruction on learning the track from the inside out, and how the lines will and do change based on speed/condition has forever changed how I view a track and the “race line”.
The instruction on body position, and detailed critique of individuals was helpful as well. Please tell Mark that in all of my riding, my “core” has never been sore (only legs and arms). I worked on implementing several of the recommendations over the two days, and I can definitely feel a difference in muscle use, soreness, and the ease of riding the bike. I have always had trouble shifting while partially leaned over (picking the bike up out of a turn). The change in body position and posture did help with that issue. My single regret in the class was not going back to the class room between or after sessions to review my pictures and critique my own form after listening to your reviews.
The lesson on exit points was also very useful. I have always tried to “look through the turn”, but the track walk with examples of specific points really helped clarify the how, where, and what in looking through the turn.
The track walk with the instructors on the track was humbling, impressive, and informative. Actually seeing the lines that can be taken at the speeds run by the instructors really emphasized the fact that the rider should use the line dictated by the speed, the wide swooping lines are not necessary, straight line when ever possible.
I greatly appreciated the one on one with the instructors. Having an opportunity to follow instructors around the track and have the instructor follow the student to provide feedback was truly helpful. The feedback they provided was specific, well presented, and provided immediate improvement when implemented.
Again, thank you!
KS
JenningsGP School
Would like to say that I had a great time in Jennings Fl with the school, great instructors, lots of track time with lots of advice from the staff. I will be back next year.

Letter of Appreciation to Dunlop
Attached is a letter of appreciation that I would like forwarded to the proper representatives at Dunlop. I made tremendous gains at your school and thoroughly appreciate the support Dunlop and your other sponsors give to the school. Without your sponsors, I may not have been able to attend your school. Dunlop makes a high quality tire, but their sponsorship in track rider education goes a long way to sway my purchasing dollar.
I was also thoroughly impressed with the wealth of knowledge and humbleness of your staff. I am a beginner/intermediate rider and I know very well that your slowest instructor could easily make me look stupid on the track, but none did. I only received encouragement and when I was excited that I was picking up speed, the instructors shared in my joy. My riding has improved dramatically not only because of the skills I gained at your school but also because of the confidence I have gained. Most of that confidence did not come through classroom instruction. It came by way of interaction with the instructors.
The other item that I wanted to mention was that one of the biggest factors that swayed me to take the school was not only Jason Pridmore (a very high level racer) but also the quantity of instructors that raced and crewed race teams as well. I think it is important to have experts in many fields instead of every instructor knowing the same information.
Excellent job on the school, I will attend more in the future.
Sincerely,
SG
May at Topeka - "It was my very first time on a track, and I don't think I could have done it any better way!"
Hey guys! I loved the school! I learned a ton!! Thanks to everyone involved for being so down to earth and willing to help! I feel like I improved leaps and bounds by attending. It was my very first time on a track, and I don't think I could have done it any better way! Very impressed!! I was very worried about riding in the rain and with the weather here the prior two weeks it was pretty much a sure thing we would get wet! And we did! But I ended up actually having a blast riding in the rain Tuesday morning and made huge progress in my riding! So much so that Jason himself noticed my improvement even in the wet! Now I no longer cringe at the thought of riding in the rain, at least on the track anyway.
I couldn't be happier with the way the school went down. It was money well spent and I would encourage anyone, new to track riding or not, to go to your school given the chance. AND TAKE THE TWO-UP RIDE!!! I took it at the very end of day one, and I think that alone really put all the lessons together and showed me that I am no where near the limits of the bike and tires. The only limits I was bumping against were my own abilities, and they were continually stretched as I learned more and more each lap. Not to mention it was crazy fun!! :)
247 miles, 98.9 laps of pure motorcycling bliss! I can't wait to do it again!!
I appreciate all you offered us in the class, and on the track. Definitely a top-notch operation!!
Thanks again!

June Autobahn - "I am 100% impressed by the whole operation and am recommending it to everyone I can."
To Jason and staff,
I have been riding for 33 years and raced motocross in my youth. I have been riding on the street and doing track days for almost 30 years. Your school is the first I have ever done and now I have regrets. I regret I dragged my feet for so many years without getting professional instruction like the Star school provided. I regret trying to figure everything out on my own by reading books and trying to apply the ideas. I am 100% impressed by the whole operation and am recommending it to everyone I can. Jason is one of the most approachable, down to earth, genuine people I have ever met. His talent is on a whole other planet and yet he is so humble he doesn’t feel comfortable saying he’s fast, well I have no problem saying it. If anyone has earned the right to say “I’m fast” it’s Jason Pridmore. I will be attending more schools by Star and am looking very forward to attending. A genuine heartfelt thank you to Jason and the entire staff, it’s the best money I’ve spent in 30+ years of motorcycling and I beg anyone who reads this to not wait.

"I'll be dreaming of that downshifting technique till then"
Hey Jason and Mark,
Thanks again for letting me come out and ride with you guys. I learned a ton. I got some new tricks in the bag for the next time I race and I'll try and do you guys proud. It was a great experience with STAR. All the instructors were really helpful. I think I was able to work with just about everybody. I don't feel my trail- braking is where it needs to be at, but i was able to practice it a bit and get into some turns a bit faster. I'll definately be working on that next time. The only thing that sucks is that i'll have to wait four weeks till the next time WSMC races to practice. But I'll be dreaming of that downshifting technique till then. Thanks again guys. I had a great time with STAR. I hope to be back again soon.

May 2007 at Pueblo - "The one on one was excellent"
Jason,
I would like to thank you and your staff for a great school at Pueblo this year. Once again I enjoyed the instruction, both class room and track. The one on one was excellent. I got a lot out of it. I'm sure my riding smoothed out a bit and that's really what I was looking for. I also think I can lean it over just a little bit further!
Once again my thanks to you, the instructors, and all the support staff that made the school the success it was.

April 2007 at Buttonwillow - "EXCEEDED my expectations"
To all:
I just completed your 2 day school at Buttonwillow. I have to tell you the school EXCEEDED my expectations! I am so satisfied I already plan on attending another one of your schools in the future. In fact its not fair to call it a school. Its a track day with instruction. Where else can I ride an awesome track like Buttonwillow with only 14 other riders on the track at the same time!
Your staff is incredible! And I was amazed at how friendly and courteous everyone was. Not to mention Jason is the most humble approachable guy I ever met.
All and all the two best days I ever spent on a motorcycle. Not to mention the thrill of riding two up with Jason at the controls. It was amazing to experience the track at those levels.
Thanks again, and I will be seeing you in the future!

April 2007 at Thunderhill - "Outstanding"
I chose STAR for my first track school (April 3rd, Thunderhill) and was not disappointed. I had an outstanding time. I made some progress, but could have improved even further if I had listened more to the instructors. Their wealth of knowledge is amazing, and my advice to any who attend is to listen and practice what they suggest.
I am telling others about my favorable experience, and I plan to return in the near future.

April 2007 at Thunderhill - "in two days you made me a 300% better rider"
I just wanted to drop you an e-mail to thank you for the great school you provided. I’m really amazed at the professionalism of you and your staff. Everyone was so patient and respectful. You and your instructors are amazing riders and very good at teaching what you know. It is one thing to know how to ride will, but it takes a really talented person to express what you know in a way others can understand. I have been riding for 10 years and I feel in two days you made me a 300% better rider not only in skill but in confidence also.
I will definately be seeing you again and spreading the word about your school. Thanks again and ride safe.

March 2007 at The Streets - "The Qualifiers really gave me a lot of confidence and feedback"
Thanks for a great class, Steve and Mark helped me quite a bit with my position on the bike. Just saw the pics and the difference. Enjoyed running in the advanced group.
Also, thanks to Dunlop for the solid deal on great tires, the Qualifiers, they really gave me a lot of confidence and feedback.
Finally, the number of new Suzuki's at the track from Star also made me lust after a 2007 GSXR 600 in a big way.
Great stuff and a great time!

March 2007 at The Streets - "I felt my comfort and confidence increase"
Jason, Mark and Staff,
Thank you so much for an excellent 2 days of instruction! I had an absolute blast and was completely bummed when my bike quit on me, but fortunately for me, the day was cut short due to the wind and I didn't actually lose too much track time. I found the one-on-one instruction to be extremely helpful and the tips and drills while challenging were key in building confidence and overcoming a lot of the panic I've been struggling with for so long. In particular, I found the breathing technique to be very helpful in keeping my mind focused and my body relaxed while leaning the bike. I was also complemented several times on my riding by several of the instructors which gave me another unexpected boost in confidence. When Roger followed me off the track and told me that I am a much better rider than I let myself believe and he urged me to start planning ahead for getting around other riders instead of staying behind them for half a lap or longer, I felt my comfort and confidence increase even more! Thank you so much Roger!!!
Also, having ridden at Streets of Willow several times over the past few years, riding the track in the reverse direction was amazing even given the wind, rain, hail, and snowy conditions present on day 2!! Typically, I would shy away from riding in such conditions, but I felt so much more confident in my riding that I wasn't nearly as nervous about the weather; I remained focused on practicing the drills and working with the instructors. The weather definitely took a back-seat to my goal of becoming a better rider; I would actually say that I the weather played a part in boosting my confidence and comfort. I can't wait to get back to a track to practice more, especially the down-shifting, which I really did not grasp.
I look forward to joining you all again for another big dose of instruction and taking my riding to another more advanced level. Thank you again! Hope to see you all in September!
Regards,
SP
February 2007 at Pahrump - "Had a great time in Pahrump"
Hi Jason,
Just wanted to send a word through and express my gratitude for such a great time in Pahrump.
I went in to your program willing to let go of all the west coast style techniques I had learned. Such as leaning way off the bike, wide corner entry, etc. I kept an open mind and a learning spirit. I was rewarded with a new perpespective on riding. My body positioning technique felt way better. Previously I rode with mostly upper body strength with counter steering techniques. The second day with you, I found I could actually remove my hands form the bars while in a corner. Awesome. The early entry into corners allowed me to find a better more efficient way around the track. I actually looked forward to those corners I would usually dread. So much information was given to me, it was difficult to get better at all of it right away. I could have used another week there.
In closing, I wanted to say, last year was my second year of club racing. I had a crash mid season in Seattle in turn 2, doing something like 140 mph into the corner. Although I escaped with a few bruises and scrapes, my confidence was shattered. My main concern going into STAR was to get back some confidence. What I got was new start. I will take what I have learned a build on it. I wanted to thank you especially for giving the attention needed to open my mind. I would also like the thank Mark for helping me on body positioning, Trevitt for following me around and telling me to keep my ass on the seat, Nicholls (the old guy) for following me and helping me on my lines. Thanks to all of the instructors for their support.
I will definitely see you again this year.
Sincerely,
DR

November 2006 at Pahrump - "To express my complete satisfaction with the riding class"
Susie/Jason – just want to express my complete satisfaction with the riding class. I must admit, having virtually no pavement experience with a motorcycle and as old as I am that I would enjoy myself. Well, let me tell you….this old man had a blast! I think I’ll stick to four wheels but, thanks to the Star School, I won’t ever forget the two wheel experience. While everyone in your organization was helpful, courteous, understanding, patient and upbeat, I wanted to take just a moment to recognize two members of your staff that made a distinct impression on me – Mark and Craig (I hope that’s his name). From the moment I arrived at the school, looking like a deer in the headlights, Mark was right there trying to get me settled with a suit, helmets, gloves, etc, etc. He was great. As for Craig and the personalized attention he gave me on the track, what more can I say except that he too was FANTASTIC! His patience and willingness to help simply enhanced the total experience of the track time.
You have a wonderful organization and a staff of which you should be proud. I consider myself fortunate to have been a participant in the Star School, Pahrump.
Best regards to you both,
R P
November 2006 at Pahrump - "I can't believe how much I learned and improved in two days"
I want to thank everyone at STAR for a great weekend at the end of year school in Pahrump. I can't believe how much I learned and improved in two days. Your organization was well run and the atmosphere was very conducive to learning. Everyone was friendly and helpful and things were explained well, which all helped to put at ease a first-timer at a school and racetrack. I like the pace of the school: hitting the track immediately after a classroom session keeps things fresh in your mind. The track walks watching the instructors ride by is a great tool; watching them at specific points on the track really helped me understand how to approach those areas. And, the ride with Jason was spectacular and eye-opening. I picked up a number of little things that he did that I was able to apply to my riding in my next track session. My confidence level really went up by the end of Sunday and I was having a blast! Even though I was dead tired, I hated to see the weekend come to a close. I have a lot more to learn, so I'll be back.
Thanks,
B S
October 2006 at Thunderhill - "Just the two up ride with Jason is enough to justify the first day's tuition"
I wanted to express my appreciation to everyone at STAR for such a great class on October 3rd-4th at Thunderhill. It was my first time at a race track and I am hooked. Everyone at STAR was friendly and professional, and my riding improved more than I had hoped. Just the two up ride with Jason is enough to justify the first day's tuition. Thanks to Steve for
the helpful coaching on the track. I'll be back next year.
Thanks.

September 2006 at Streets of Willow - "I was very impressed with the way the curriculum was presented"
I wanted to take a minute to say thank you. I would also like to recommend this school to anyone interested in taking this school. I have spent a lot of time riding over the last 20 or so years, I have spent a little time club racing and doing track days. I was very impressed with the way the curriculum was presented. Things were taught in class, and then immediately applied on the track. The staff was right there to help and insure proper applications and techniques. I left with a great plan for my future racing and riding. Everyone was very helpful and easily approachable. We also had a great surprise when Mat Mladin stopped by. I had one last surprise and that was the next day, My legs were so sore it was unreal. The track and classroom time were 50/50 so sharpen your pencils and be ready to ride. Great school, Great experience.
Thank you,
FG
Jessica Zalusky comments on her June 26/27 2006 Autobahn STAR School Experience
Dear Jason:
I would like to personally thank you and your instructors for the opportunity to attend your school. I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the school, from the personable instructors to the invaluable knowledge you bestowed upon the students and I.
In its entirety, I found your class to be in a class of it’s own! Off the track, your classroom instruction was enormously informative and useful for my on-track riding and racing. On the track, I found the instructors and instruction to be very enlightening, educational and thorough. Additionally, I felt that I was able to gain more from the experience due to the relaxed atmosphere and approach of your school and instructors. Your school has made a huge and significant impact on my racing skills and myself personally. Plain and simple, I had a lot fun and learned tremendously!
As someone who is experienced with both riding and racing, I do believe that any rider of any skill level could apply the skills and knowledge learned from your school to their every day riding or racing and as a result, become a better rider or racer.
All together, I learned a lot about becoming a more proficient rider and feel more confident as a result! I only regret not participating in your school earlier in my racing career and already look forward to attending another school in the near future!
Furthermore, I would like to commend you for your commitment to our sport! You are a generous and inspiring racer and person. Thanks again for sharing your talents and knowledge.
Sincerely,
Jessica Zalusky

June 26, 2006 at Autobahn - "Everyones willingness to take time to talk to students one-on-one."
Jason and Crew,
I just want to express my appreciation for Star providing such a great experience. I think your teaching approach promotes a relaxed environment so that the students can focus on their riding and not on trying to win the track school! Everyones willingness to take time to talk to students one-on-one, no matter how long it took, speaks volumes for the level of professionalism that your instructors provide.
Thanks, Lick, for the on track attention and helping me to stop moving around too much. Good luck patching that hole in your new boot! I'd ride much faster but I dont want to ruin my old, scraped up e-bay boots.......yeah, thats it. And Chris, for the encouragement and body position pointers...and not breaking me in half. Thanks, Mark, for the help with the suit when mine decided it had enough and for the body positioning drills....I still refuse to repeat how Jason described you when I asked which one you were. Way to keep up with the gsxr's on that SV, GO TWINS! Jason, for the tremendous class room instruction and one-on-one time with technical questions. I also think its great that you take people out for a two-up ride! Thats got to be pretty tiring after a while! My only regret was not taking a lap with you, myself. I guess thats a good excuss to come back for a second round......maybe Miller....do you offer a second time discount? How 'bout a longest drive discount? Just Kidding!
Thanks Again and here's to safe travels and finding all your classrooms full!

May 29, 2006 at Hallett - "I will definitely be doing this again."
Jason and company,
I thoroughly enjoyed myself at your class on the 29th at the Hallett Motor Racing Circuit. The instructors were personable and the instruction clear and concise. I especially appreciated the opportunity to practice those newly learned skills, in a safe environment, on the track following each classroom session. It is apparent that you have spent a large amount of time and energy on the structure of your teaching sessions and the fruit of that labor shines through.
Additionally, the ride along with Jason was the perfect opportunity to see the techniques taught in class, put into practice. It was amazing to see how smoothly and quickly a bike could go around the track at speed with another person on back. Honestly, the ride along was worth the price of the class.
I would also like to give positive feedback for the session where we drove out to problem corners and watched how the instructors take the turns. This was of immense benefit to see the proper technique being applied. It was also amazing to see the speeds that could be achieved with proper technique. (I.e. Pridmore and Eslick)
To sum it up, I enjoyed a safe racing experience with a positive learning environment and came away with more than my $275.00 could have ever purchased elsewhere. I will definitely be doing this again.
p.s. I wanted you to know that I donated online to Wegman Fund for the ride along.
Best Regards,
DC
May 29, 2006 at Hallett - "The on track one on one instruction was awesome."
Jason, Lick, your Star Motorcycle School was a blast! I learned a lot and can’t wait for a track day so I can practice the new skills you guys taught me. The classroom instruction was great. The on track one on one instruction was awesome. Steve worked with me for a complete session and got my body position corrected. Steve and Chris’s on track help was tremendous.
What an experience riding one on one for a session with AMA’s Super sport number 2 in point standings Danny Eslick, a once in a lifetime experience!! What FUN!! The two up ride with Jason was unforgettable!!!!!!
This was my second Star event at Hallett and my riding confidence level is up at least 75%.
I thoroughly enjoyed both days at Hallett and am already looking forward to next year.
Thanks to Jason, Lick, Mark, Steve, Chris and all the Star staff for a Great motorcycle experience!!!!!!!!!!!

May 15, 2006 at Pueblo - "See you guys next year!"
Just wanted to say I had a great time again - and after my third course with you I just keep learning. Each course Mark Gallardo has given me one correction which made a ton of difference. Following Mark into turn one I told myself I would not back off until he did. I was thinking "OH NO, OH NO, OH... well jeeze that was easy". And I'll take Jason's advice to heart and not turn in quite so soon. See you guys next year!

May 15, 2006 at Pueblo - "I've had some exciting moments in racing, but your school is right up there."
Hello Jason:
As an ex-Alpine ski racer, I've had some exciting moments in racing, but your school is right up there. In fact, it's one of the coolest things I've ever done.
More importantly, I don't think I've ever progressed so much in so little time in any sport. My confidence and execution increased dramatically in those two days. Whereas before your school, I was thinking of selling my track bike, now I can't wait to get back out there.
Good luck with your racing and looking forward to seeing you in Pueblo again soon.

P.S. I kick myself every day for not doing the two-up demo. Next time.
April 4, 2006 at Thunderhill - "I will definitely see you again at a future STAR program"
Jason, Susie and Crew,
The April 4 - 5 '06 Thunderhill sessions were great. I'll admit to being very apprehensive about taking a track school in the rain. However, your approach to the conditions and the on track coaching made it a tremendous learning experience. The weather did cooperate, sort of, with a mixture of rain, wet, drying and dry track all of which offered different conditions to ride. Each lesson and drill had an extra meaning and the fact that not one person left the track Tuesday speaks highly of your program. Having a sunny Wednesday was icing in the cake. I did two additional track days later that week in mixed conditions, which just reinforced the importance of your lessons. I will definitely see you again at a future STAR program.
Thanks again,
JB

Jason and crew:
Thanks so much for providing such a professional and excellent school. Absolutely worth every penny and the best value in motorcycling. I've completed five days with you guys now and I can't believe how much you have taught me. I will be back and I hope to bring some friends, too. Much more to learn and much more fun to be had!

February 25, 2006 at Pahrump - "Not only was it the most fun"
Jason and Corey,
I wanted to drop you guys a line and say thanks for all the help I have received from the school. When I last attended the school Corey worked with me on some issues I had in my first race. Having never raced before I was just plain scared to mix it up with other riders and it hurt my result. On saturday 2/25/06 at Pahrump Corey worked with me on this. Not only was it the most fun I had ever had riding, it also got me past that fear. I raced this last sunday at LVMS and took third in both classes that I had entered. The skills and confidence I have aquired at your school have helped me to achieve my goal of not only racing, but being competetive as well.
Thanks,
T
February 25, 2006 at Pahrump - " I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the track"
I wanted to write and thank you for such a great track experience. Being my first time on a track I'm glad it wasn't a "free for
all". In my opinion it was the best way for me to get on the track, Although I've ridden most of my life (cruisers), I found the track a little intimidating at first seeing all these race bikes...after about 2 laps that was gone and replaced with a natural and comfortable feeling on the track and the desire to push myself way beyond anything I've done before. The days went by way to fast...I really loved the Spring Mountain track.
Using the tools and techniques I was taught helped my confidence level soar. I didn't mind being passed and found the ability to pass others coming easier and easier. By the end of the second day my lines were consistent, my body position improved with each lap as did my speed. I still can't believe I was carrying the speed I was through the turns...damn....that was great... The bike got out of shape a few times in turn 3 (ok...I came in too hot a few times) but working the skills they taught us I rode through it. After a while the challenging turns became my favorites as I found out how to take them.
The instructors were great, a lot of one on one assistance. They would follow for a while, pull me over and discuss what they saw and how to improve my riding. Some had me follow and do as they did. They were a great help, friendly, eager to help and a pleasure to learn from. One thing that also helped was doing the two up ride with Jason. I paid attention to how he entered and exited the turns, his body position, etc...after the ride my speed increased even more... I couldn't have asked for a better first experience and introduction to the track than what I experienced through your school. Once again thank you very much, looking forward to attending again. |
